Patrick Dickie - Consultant producer

Patrick Dickie is a former artistic director of Portugal’s national opera house Teatro Naçional São Carlos. He has been involved in many ground-breaking commissions, projects and programmes at the intersection between classical music, theatre and dance. As producer at the Almeida Theatre, the Aldeburgh Festival and English National Opera he worked with composers including Thomas Adès, Gerald Barry, Giorgio Battistelli, Richard Ayres, Elena Langer, Errolyn Wallen and Michael Nyman.  He has collaborated with theatre makers including Streetwise Opera, Circa, Punchdrunk, La Fura dels Baus and Fiona Shaw. He was an inaugural curator of the Glasgow sound art festival Sonica.

Sir David Pountney - Artistic Leader

Between 1975-1980, Sir David Pountney was Director of Productions for Scottish Opera. He became ENO’s Director of Productions in 1980, directing over 20 operas, and taking a leading part in making ENO a powerful engine of radical theatrical experiment. He became the Intendant of the Bregenz Festival in 2003 until 2014. From 2011-2019 he was Artistic Director of Welsh National Opera.

Caroline Clegg - Artistic Leader

Caroline is stage director and choreographer following a successful career as an actor and dancer.  Most recently directing Song of Our Heartlands (Opera North, 2020), Die Dreigroschenoper (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, 2020),  Orfeo and Euridice (Scottish Opera YC, 2019), UK premier of Dead Man Walking (RCS, 2019), Rhondda Rips it Up (WNO, 2018), Savitri and Emperor of Atlantis (RCS, 2018).   She founded Feelgood Theatre Productions (1994) to specialise in site-specific cross-disciplinary work producing and directing all shows date. She will direct Blaze of Glory (WNO, 2021).

Emma Jenkins - Artistic Leader

Emma Jenkins was co-librettist and associate director for the world premiere of Iain Bell’s In Parenthesis (WNO, 2016), librettist for Elena Langer’s Rhondda Rips It Up (WNO, 2018) and librettist for Iain Bell’s Jack the Ripper: The Women of Whitechapel (ENO, 2019). Between 2017-2020 she directed the National Opera Studio residency at WNO.  She was librettist for Will Todd’s community opera at Opera North entitled Song of our Heartland and  she is librettist for a new WNO commission Blaze of Glory which will premiere in 2021.
